About Inside State & Local Policy Cast

Welcome to the Inside State and Local Policy Podcast, a product of the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.  State and Local Policy is a resource for state policy makers, the media, and others with an interest in state issues and innovative solutions to the issues facing all states.

Each episode will feature conversations with policy scholars, elected officials and other practioners. Our goal is to bridge the gap between policy theory and policy making and provide state policy makers with scholarly analysis on the potential outcomes of legislative and regulatory reforms.

Inside State and Local Policy is a product of two projects at the Mercatus Center:

State and Local Policy Project: State and Local Policy Project spurs scholarly and political debates about how to improve policy and economic outcomes in America’s states and cities. Only through a better understanding of what actually happens on the ground and the natural progression of economies can scholars and policy makers hope to craft better policies that foster the growth of their economies.

Capital Campus: Capital Campus is the educational outreach program of the Mercatus Center at George Mason University dedicated towards state policy makers. Capital Campus brings seasoned scholars and practitioners to state capitals around the country to educate policy makers about the workings of our market economy. This university-based program lends an academic approach to important state policy questions and works to bridge the often distinct worlds of theory and practice.
